Empress Isabel Necklace Albuquerque Museum Collection

Empress Isabel

My inspiration for this necklace came from The Museo del Prado exhibition displayed over the summer in Santa Fe, where I became enamored with the Titian Renaissance masterpiece of the Empress Isabel of Portugal. My necklace drew inspiration from that historic work. Empress Isabel is substantial piece made with Mediterranean coral, sterling silver, 18k yellow gold and 22k gold vermeil. It was purchased by the Albuquerque Museum to be included in a book and traveling exhibition titled "American Jewelry From New Mexico" opening June 2018.
